Lighting is far more than a practical necessity; it’s a layered design element that shapes how a space is used, how it feels, and even how it’s remembered. From illuminating a favorite book to setting a sultry dinner mood to standing in as art, the right lighting transforms everything it touches and is a huge passion for me!
Today, I’m showcasing the power in finding, designing, or commissioning the perfect lighting piece…
Sculptural Sconces & Elegant Flush Mounts
Wall-hugging sconces and elegantly flush fixtures can do more than just brighten a room—they can shift its entire personality. Whether casting a soft, flattering glow in a powder room or adding symmetry and drama to a dining wall, the right shapes and finishes can elevate any space. From sleek and modern to sculptural and whimsical, sconces can be the subtle jewelry of a room.
Artful Floor & Table Lamps
Lamps are often underestimated, yet they’re the most versatile opportunity to infuse personality into a room. These portable pieces can be works of art in their own right, boasting bold colors, tactile textures, unexpected materials, and exquisite craftsmanship. I love using them to punctuate a reading nook, enliven a console, or bring a dash of surprise to a nightstand.
Timeless Pendants & Distinctive Chandeliers
A pendant or chandelier should be sculpture that commands attention whether it’s lit or not. I look for pieces that feel both timeless and distinctive, selecting forms and finishes that speak to the mood of the space. The right choice can evoke intimacy, drama, or pure joy, and it often becomes the heartbeat of the entire room’s design.
