A New Year is a great time to kickstart your home goals. Home improvements are more than just upgrades to your property; they can be transformative when tailored to fit your family’s unique routines and lifestyle. When spaces are designed with purpose, they naturally guide your activities, making it easier to balance work and relaxation and, in turn, helping you achieve personal goals.
In this article, we’re sharing three ways interior design can help you achieve your goals…
Design Idea #1: Streamline & Create Smart Storage
Imagine starting your day in a kitchen designed to streamline your morning rush. With everything—from coffee mugs to your kids’ lunchboxes—within easy reach, mornings become less chaotic and more enjoyable. When we begin a project, we dive into your routines in order to better understand how you use your space so that we design with those routines in mind. Creating built-ins and storage solutions that work for you is our goal.
Design Idea #2: Clear Your Space, Clear Your Mind
I have a saying that a cluttered space creates a cluttered mind. I always ensure a client’s belongings have a designated spot to be stowed when not in use, keeping clutter to a minimum. This visual sense of things being in order directly translates to all areas of our lives and can open up your mind to other activities.
Design Idea #3: Design for Your Lifestyle
Do you have a favorite hobby or exercise? Perhaps you’re outdoorsy and love discovering a new trail. When everything you need is ready to go-because you’ve designated a specific spot for it-you’re far more likely to head out than if you have to spend an hour searching for trekking poles and hiking boots buried under ski gear. Creating habits of organization can completely change your lifestyle, giving you more time and space (literally) to enjoy what you love.
It’s not always easy to commit to changing the way you do things, but it’s possible, especially if your home environment supports your goals. If committing to a fully custom design feels overwhelming, start small. For instance, try adding hooks where a closet might go and observe how ofter they’re used. Even small changes can have a big impact.
