Design story: After originally purchasing the house as a starter home, this young couple quickly started feeling the strain of growing pains as their family grew. We were tapped to help them reimagine their beloved space so that it better suited their larger family.

For the first phase, we furnished the living room with bright, bold colors and worked to finish the basement into a multi functioning space that included a living/playroom combo, guest bedroom/office and bathroom. To give the parents a tranquil retreat away from it all, the private bathroom in the basement was upfitted with a luxurious soaking tub.

For the second phase, we updated both the powder room and master bathroom, in addition to running hardwoods throughout the entire home. Before we got to work, the couple’s master bath was a cold, dysfunctional space (seriously, when you opened the door, you’d hit whoever was standing at the sink). For warmth and a cozy feel, we added in heated floors and reconfigured the space so that two people can easily—and actually–comfortably use the space.
